Schmeeckle Reserve

Schmeeckle Lake Loop
Walking along this easy 2 mile lake hike, offers many different views and ecosystems.  The lake loop starts at a beautiful visitor center, and then heads towards a prairie.  Next you walk along the lake.  This part of the hike borders UW-Stevens Point and seems busier than other areas of the reserve.  The hike ended walking the boardwalks through a forest area, where we saw some deer that let us get closer than we have typically been able to get to deer.  This hike is open year-round, and would be easy to use at any point.  There are no animals allowed in the reserve.
