Door County

We LOVE Door County.  You don't even feel like you are in Wisconsin when you visit.  There is so much to do, we try to go once a year, and we always find something new to explore, while also making sure to visit our favorites. Swim in a Lake

Wisconsin has thousands of lakes!  Check water reports before swimming in late summer!
Picture

Fishing

Register for a fishing license (16 and under free), and explore the many waterways Wisconsin has to offer. Check each waterway's limits and guidelines prior to leaving.

Birding

The best time to see wide varieties of birds is the spring and fall.  However, cold winter days along the Mississippi or Wisconsin Rivers can lead to some amazing eagle watching.

My Top 3 Wisconsin Family Events

Picture

Apple Fest

Have you heard of a small town called Gays Mills in WI?  Well on the last weekend of September every year, follow Hwy 171 to find all the apple orchards and activities you would ever want. Our favorite is to pick fresh apples off the tree and bite into them immediately.
Picture

Farmer's Market

There is something special about a Saturday morning visit to the Farmer's Market in downtown Madison.  It gets busy fast, but go early and in the fall, and  you won't be disappointed.  In true Wisconsinite fashion, our favorite is the spicy cheese bread.
Picture

Christmas Festivals

It feels like every small town in Wisconsin hosts some Christmas festival.  One of our favorites is in Tomahawk.  They have live mannequin displays, hot chocolate stations, costumes, live music, and much more during this annual festival.
