Ableman's Gorge State Natural Area

This is a moderate 1.3 mile out-and-back hike to the gorge.  The beginning of the hike is an intense climb, however once you reach the top, the rest of the hike is easy.  I hiked this in the winter, so the snow added an extra challenge, but it was quiet and peaceful.  There were many people hiking along the bottom of the gorge, but I was the only one up top.  The natural area does require an entrance fee of $8 (out-of-state $11) per vehicle for a day-use pass or an annual pass for $28 (out-of-state $38).
