Raven Trail
If you are looking to see the fall colors, the Raven Trail is a must-see! We usually end up here every year. We follow the section of the trail that is paved and easy to walk or bike on (a short unpaved section from trailhead to trail). The local shops in Lake Tomahawk rent e-bikes, and it makes this trail, even more exciting to experience. We usually start by a Clear Lake parking lot, and then walk a ways along the path until we are ready to turn around and head back to the car. You can easily just drive through the park too if you don't feel like walking. There are also many trails here for UTVS as well. The park is open year-round, but fall is our favorite time to visit. Potato River Falls is a beautiful upper and lower falls, that is really off the beaten path. I was convinced we were lost and my GPS was taking me to the wrong place, but eventually we found it, and I am so glad we did! It is about a 0.8 mile hike to the upper falls, and then another 0.5 mile hike to the lower falls. Both require A LOT of stairs to see the falls. Be prepared. Then the path is rocky and root covered the rest of the way, so watch your step. This trail is accessible year-round, but I would be worried about the steep and narrow stairs in the winter months if they are snow or ice covered.
